Over 800 households in the rural villages of Kilifi County in Kenya depend entirely on pineapple farming to sustain their livelihoods. By purchasing from them, you are supporting them to feed and educate their families. Our farmers span miles of a lowland fertile belt with non-compact, well aerated and free draining loamy soils. They have the capacity to meet any demand ranging from a few kilograms to some hundreds of tones. All pineapple types are grown which vary in sizes from below 1.2 kilograms to above 4.5 kilograms. Smaller to medium sizes fetch around 70 to 80 shillings while medium sizes can range from 100 to 180 and big sizes are at 200 shillings and above. They are the sweetest in taste considering the tropical climate in the Kenyan Coastal region. And by the way, did you know that Pineapple contains nutrients and beneficial compounds such as vitamin C, manganese, and enzymes, to help aid digestion?
